JORDACHE fashion youth small 1980s horse logo vtg striped sweater kidsThis is a previously-owned, youth-small (YS), red and blue striped sweater. It measures approximately 14 inches (from underarm seam to underarm seam), about 16 inches from back collar to bottom, and is in great condition (Jordache brand, 100% acrylic).
Jordache Enterprises is a clothing company that manufactures apparel including shirts, jeans, and outerwear. The brand is known for its designer jeans that were popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The company originated in 1969, when the Nakash (Naccache) brothers opened a store in New York City. By 1978, they had entered the jeans manufacturing business, basing their styles on the European denim market, where jeans were more body-conscious and fashion-forward. To set their brand apart, the brothers created an aggressive 1979 ad campaign starring an apparently topless woman in tight Jordache jeans riding a horse through the surf.
