Helpful tips for Non-Automotive Applications:
Although marketing, and instructions favor the automotive industry there are unlimited uses for this tool in performance applications as well as the smaller engine/equipment service industry. Additional uses include One Man brake bleeding performed quickly and no mess! Different types of carburetor, fuel system test requiring both pressure and vacuum. With add on or fabricated adapters, cooling system test for water cooled small engines, marine, motorcycle and ATV applications. Engine block and crankcase pressure test for oil or air leaks.

With a little fabricating this tester can provide a simple visual test to determine engine valve sealing. With a rubber stopper, barb and liquid soap, we checked sealing of the valves with the head off. Keep in mind that some leakage will always be lost around the valve guide/stem area so test pressures will need to be low. To help reduce the leakage around the valve stem we applied a small amount of grease on the valve before reinstalling. This particular head was leaking a noticeable amount on the intake valve and required very little cutting with a Neway cutter to true up. Once back on the engine, we performed a cylinder leak test, showing the valves sealed perfectly.  Save yourself a lot of time and frustrations by having some basic tools to diagnose engine trouble.
