Girl, 13, dies in ATV crash in Upstate NY; boy, 11, also injured

A 13-year-old girl has died after an ATV crash in Upstate New York that also injured an 11-year-old boy.
WBNG reports the two children were hurt in an all-terrain vehicle crash on Saturday in the Delaware County town of Hamden, located about 20 miles south of Oneonta. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said the girl was privately taken to the Delaware Valley Hospital in the Village of Walton, where she was later pronounced dead from her injuries.
The second victim, the boy, was transported by ambulance to a helicopter landing zone and then flown to Albany Medical Center by Life Net for non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
The names of the girl and boy have not been released.
The sheriff’s office has not provided additional details, including the circumstances of the crash.
Delaware County 911, the Town of Colchester Police Department, Ambulnz Medical Service, Downsville Fire & EMS and Walton EMS assisted deputies in the incident, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said.
